About

Dr. Polonsky, FACOG, ABOIM

Dear Patient:

I have been practicing Ob/Gyn for over 25 years and have loved taking care of women from adolescence to senescence, with the ability to do routine gynecologic care to surgery and obstetrics. I have always had an interest in preventative medicine, and treating the whole patient and had begun to realize that the part of my day that I enjoyed the most was talking with my patients about wellness, sleep, nutrition and exercise/ mobility.  Additionally, I often see patients who are frustrated with symptoms that their other providers are unable to diagnose or treat, many times seeing multiple specialists that are simply not working together or seeing the whole patient.

This led me to pursue a nutrition certification and then an Integrative Medicine Fellowship with board certification. In January 2025, I began to see patients interested in this type of care with a program called Integrative Women’s Health.  I defined this as a holistic approach to women’s healthcare that combines conventional medicine with evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies. It focuses on treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just managing symptoms.  My focus has been on peri/ menopause, sexual health/ libido, PCOS, PMDD and lifestyle and nutrition.  It has been gratifying to care for my patients in this model which has included 60 minute initial visits and 30 minute follow-ups.  It has been clear that this type of care is valued and sought after, and there is now a long waiting list to enter the program.

As this program has grown, I can no longer dedicate the time necessary to provide the personalized attention that every patient wishes and deserves.  I also feel that this program would be enhanced by services that I cannot provide in the traditional insurance-based fee for service model.

This letter is to announce my new Integrative Women’s Health Program using a Membership Model here at Andover Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C.  This program will be launched officially on May 1, 2026.  Between now and May 1, Program enrollment will be open and will initially be limited this to 100 patients.

The reasons for switching to this practice model have mostly to do with the increasing time constraints that now exist in a patient-physician relationship.  I will now be able to address patients’ health care needs in a way that has been difficult, if not impossible, to do.  In this Program we will have unhurried office visits, not dictated by insurance reimbursement requirements, which will allow us to address multiple concerns and more opportunities for direct communication between visits, so that you feel comfortable with your overall plan of care.  Other features include ongoing lecture series, group sessions targeting specific health concerns like menopause, osteoporosis, nutrition/ body composition and a goal setting program.   You will also have direct email access to me for questions/ concerns for the duration of your membership.

A medical membership program is a hybrid between fee for service medicine and concierge medicine, offering enhanced services that are not covered by your insurance which will help me take a much more proactive interest in your health with high quality medicine and service.  My hope is to maintain the focus of care on optimizing your overall health, rather than simply treating symptoms/ disease.  I will have the time to empower you to make lifestyle changes that will allow for vitality and extended healthspan. Continuing to accept and work with health insurance companies will allow all of my current patients to have the choice whether or not the medical membership model program is right for them.

If you have interest in joining the Integrative Women’s Health Program as a Member, I will be running informational sessions on Zoom and in person. Please call 978-475-2731 to book an appointment or to register for a informational session.

If you are not interested at this time in joining the Integrative Women’s Health Program as a Member, I will continue to see routine obstetric and gynecologic patients for problem focused visits and annual exams.  As the Integrative Women’s Health Program grows, wait times for these appointments with me may become longer.  As always, for more urgent concerns you may see any of the other providers at  Andover Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C.

Please know that I value you as a patient and hope you will join me in this new approach to Women’s medicine.

Sincerely,

Andrea Polonsky, M.D.
